I am happy that Mike was willing to dress up and go to a Halloween party with me this year, that the grandchildren will all drop by to trick-or-treat and that we are blessed to live in a great neighborhood that will have hundreds of kids trick-or-treating tonight!

What else is going on?

I spent the weekend with about 80 other ladies at the Harvest Crop put together by the Hostess with the Mostess....Vickie Ward. We had an awesome time even if I didn't even work on any of my own projects! I did an awesome make-n-take using the Viva Decor Pearl Pens with all the croppers. It took the best part of the two days between my classes and running the store but it was well worth the time.

I am looking forward to my next scrapbooking adventure in a couple of weeks. I'm going to the Mt. Eagle retreat center outside of Clinton, AR. I've been there several times and it is such a serene place. It is so beautiful in the fall. I am providing snacks for the group and I have a few fun suprises planned thanks to my Pintrest obsession! LOL

Today, I am happy that I picked up all three of my grandchildren at their schools, that Tuesday is my clean house day and that Mike is (at this minute) ordering me a new camera!!

Hello Wednesday

Hi friends. How are YOU doing today? My day is truly blessed. Had an appointment this morning and the outcome wasn't what I expected but it is ok. Then I come home to see Miss Emily and everything seems all better.

Speaking of Miss Emily, she's a little under the weather today. We are pretty sure that her first tooth is about to break through the gum. We can feel it a little. All the signs are there. Fever, grumpy, messy diapers, not eating. She's in her bed right now but she would rather be held. I hope that tooth pops in soon.

Last night I went to see Jeremy play flag football. He sure is a fast dude! I guess that comes naturally since his mom and dad are very athletic. Jax was tired and hungry but seemed content to watch Scooby Doo either on my iPad or his mommy's phone.

It's laundry day around here. I really don't mind it at all. It is much easier than when there were 5 at home! LOL

Today, I am happy that most things can be fixed, that Emily is getting her first tooth and for a dryer that dries my towels fast!

We are all here having a great time in Dallas. The big game against the Texas Aggies is tomorrow morning at Texas Stadium. I have these scrumptious cookies to pass out.

I ordered 4 dozen of them for a tailgate party but since they changed the game to 11 am, we are not going to tailgate. I'll just hand them out to kids at the game.

I am glad that the game is at 11 a.m. The girls and I plan to shop tomorrow afternoon. The guys can handle the kids so we can have a little girl time.

Please pray for our friends little baby girl, Eden. She's at Children's Hospital in ICU awaiting heart surgery. She is such a precious baby. My heart aches that her little heart is failing. Thank goodness we have a wonderful children's hospital in Arkansas.

There is a lot to be happy about today. I am happy that my family is here to share in the thrill of a Razorback football game with us. I am happy for safe travels for everyone and that the Galleria Mall is right next to our hotel! LOL

Wonderful Wednesday

Started my morning off cooking a big pot of tomato basil soup. We love to keep it in the refrigerator for a quick go to meal. It smells so wonderful as it cooks.

I spent a little time being Cre8tive upstairs today. I really enjoyed that. I need a few whole days up there! I will share my creations with you next week.

It was my turn to pick Jeremy up at Sequoyah today. I have spent many, many days picking up kids and Sequoyah. Love it. Jax came over today too. Love it when I get to see all three grand kids in the same day.

For dinner I made a roasted pork tenderloin with a brown mustard/honey glaze. I also roasted vegetables to go along with it. Yummy and healthy!

Emily loves bath time. Her parents are still moving so she gets to hang out with us. Mike, Whitney & Emily will be staying with us for a few weeks. It is so nice having them here.

I am happy for beautiful grandchildren, low calorie dinners and a husband who cleans the kitchen!

A Random Act of Kindness happened to me today. It could not have come at a better time. I wasn't feeling the best emotionally. You know, my grandfather passing away and all. My friend Sherry brought me this....

and she didn't even know that I was having a bad day or that my grandfather passed away. Thank you Sherry. You know I love you bunches!!

Today, I am happy for great friends, a husband who stands by my side and for the beautiful funeral service for my grandfather

I am ready for a happy Wednesday.

Now...about my Monday

My Grandfather, Fred Thomas Rood, passed away at 10:00 on Saturday night. I didn't know about it until Sunday morning. Papa Rood was 95 years old. He worked his entire life. By trade, he was a plumber. He taught my dad the trade to, along with heat/air and electrical. He built a few (lot) of houses around town and ran a very successful business for many, many years. He was well respected in the community.

Mike and I went to the visitation and saw many people that we had not seen in years. Seems like that always happens at a funeral.

I am happy that my grandfather lived a good long life, that I saw my cousins tonight and that Jesus died for our sins.

Whoa....I promised myself that I was going to blog everyday in the month of September. My birthday month. I did great up until my trip to Las Vegas this past weekend. Here is a recap.

I flew (first class, since it was the b.d. month) to Las Vegas via Little Rock and Atlanta on Thursday morning. Mike had a limo waiting for me at baggage claim. Again, for the b.d. month.

My friend, Rebecca Maske, flew out on a different airline so she met me at the hotel. After settling in, I had to go shopping. Lots of fun and a few new clothes!

Next we met up with my friends, Lori Smithers (San Antonio) and Kay Savage (Birmingham) at the Inspiration Unlimited scrapbook event. Here we are at the meet & greet.

We had a fabulous Italian dinner at the hotel and had to crash because of the super long travel day.

Bright and early Friday was the first of our three classes for the day. Most of you that know me, know that I am NOT a morning person. Thank goodness for the time change. I needed the extra hours!

Our first class of the day was with Janet Hopkins. Her project was amazing. Following lunch, Teresa Collins graced us with a fantastic book and then our last class was with Amber Packer. We all went out for a great steak dinner at Hanks. Lori, Kay and I all have the big 5-0 birthday within three weeks of each other so I had the restaurant bring us fabulous deserts. It was a surprise. I'll post pictures of that soon. Friday night we had more scrapbooking fun with make-n-takes and lots of shopping.

Saturday's classes were awesome too. First we had another class with Teresa Collins, a great class with Joey Otlo from Bazzill and finished the day with a class from Layle Koncar. We all went out for a great steak dinner at Hanks. At the closing event, we had a speaker and lots of door prizes. The four of us left a little early from that to go see a show on the Vegas strip. Kay had never been to Vegas before so we took her to a classic showgirl type show call Jubilee at Bally's. It was fun. Stayed out a little too late.......!!!!!!

Sunday morning was another early morning. Had to be at the airport for a 7:15 flight. Not so good after about 3 hours of sleep. Oh well, I sure did have a good time!

So, that was my weekend. Such a whirlwind but memories I'll cherish forever.

I am happy that I have friends who enjoy scrapbooking as much as I do, for my love of flying and for having the best husband in the world!

Viva Las Vegas....I am here

I arrived in Vegas today to attend Teresa Collins' Inspiration Unlimited. Easy flight. Thanks to my son, Matt, for getting me awesome tickets. It's been a long day since I had to get up at 4:00 am to be at the airport for my early morning flight.

Mike had a limo waiting for me at the airport. Isn't he the best guy. My friend, Rebecca, arrived earlier so she was waiting for me at the hotel. We met up with Kay and Lori later on at the IU gala then had dinner. Our first class is tomorrow. I can't wait to show you pictures.

Right now, I am extremely tired. Gotta get some sleep so I'll be ready for a busy two days of non-stop scrapbooking!

Today, I am happy that my flight was great, for good friends to hang out with and for a nice comfy hotel room.

Well, Jax is cute. Me, not so much! You are seeing me minus make up and in my pj's. LOL About 9 pm he climbed on my lap and ask me to scratch his tummy. Less than 5 minutes later, he was out like a light!

I've been in full "Nanny" mode today. Miss Emily spent the day with me. We picked Jeremy up at school. Both boys spent the evening with us while Justin and Jenny moved a few things to their new house. I sure am going to miss them being right down the street.

I'm leaving early Thursday morning for my scrapbooking adventure. Have I packed? Nope! Not a thing. I guess I will do that tomorrow.

Today, I am happy that Jax likes his tummy scratched, for a clean house and sweet grandchildren.

What have I been doing today?

Oh, a little of this and a whole lot of that! Ha! Seriously, I often wonder where my day goes. I did have this little one with me all day...

I explained to her that Monday was Nanny's busy day around the house and she had to learn to play instead of being held. Well, that didn't work out to well. She is such a good baby but she does like to be held. So, while I folded clothes and straightened up around the house, she was close behind. She's pretty fast on all fours! She loves to pull up to the couch. I bet she'll be an early walker! Watch out. Miss Emily is lots of fun.

I did manage to make some corn chowder for dinner tonight. It smells so good. I found a recipe that calls for putting the shaved corn cob into the soup before adding the milk (or cream). It makes for a real rich tasting broth. Add the heavy cream and it is divine. I am going to make some corn muffins to go with it tonight. I love having soup in the fall. So delicious.

Also, I did make it up to my studio today while Miss Emily took a long nap. I can't wait to share what I have been working on. Hopefully that will be next week.

Fun in the tub

Jax came home from Fayetteville with us last night. Slept right between Nanny and Grandpa! This morning he took a very looooonnnnnggggg bath with just a few toys! He sure loves his bath.

I am looking forward to a very busy week. No time to play around! I am going to Vegas on Thursday to meet up with scrapbook friends. This event is a blast. It is called Inspiration Unlimited and is THE scrapbooking event to attend each year. Teresa Collins is an awesome host. She is an amazing person. This is the 4th year for her event and I am happy to say that I have been all 4 years! I'll miss Mike but it is fun to have a friends get-a-way.

I have a list of supplies I need to get together tomorrow. I also need to finish up a few projects of my own so that I can get products ordered! For tomorrow...No phone! No tv! No computer (well, not sure on that one).

I am happy that Jaxon had fun at our house, about my upcoming trip and such a sweet husband.

My first Pintrest recipe

Good Morning Friends....
On the way to TLC this morning, my thoughts kept going back to all the fun recipes that I have been finding on Pintrest lately. After dropping Emily off at school, a ran into Kroger to get a few ingredients to a simple recipe that I remembered! It's called Peanut Butter Cup Brownies.

Don't they look delicious? Super simple too. Bake your favorite brownie recipe in mini muffin cups. Remove from oven and smash the centers down. Fill with melted peanut butter and top with milk chocolate chips and peanut butter chips. Cool completely before removing from pan.

Some of mine look a little messy but I think they will look much nicer on a nice Razorback platter!

This batch is prettier! I cooked these a little longer...less gooey. I actually dug a hole in the brownie to pour the melted peanut butter into.

I am going to take these to the tail-gate party tomorrow for the Razorback game.

Busy day today...and I am happy that the brownies smell good, for fun times at Razorback games and spending time with the family.

Please ignore the messy house! That's how it looks lately! haha Jaxon was a sneaky boy today. He wasn't in a real good mood since he spent his afternoon at the ENT doctor. I didn't even know that he had my camera until the flash went off! Oh well, he didn't hurt a thing and it made him smile to surprise me like that.

I needed a few extra hours today. To bad I couldn't just order them up! LOL I did manage to get a nail fill and a pedi. You know, those important things. I did sketch a few layouts while waiting in the Sequoyah pick up line today. I am itching to get upstairs to my studio and start playing with some paper!

We are heading to the hill tomorrow. We need to do a little shopping to get Mike some long sleeve shirts and maybe some dress pants. The Razorbacks play Saturday night and we will tailgate with the kids prior to the game. Loving the family time.

Today I a happy for new nails, pretty toes, dinner out and lots of catalogs in the mail!

Today was a beautiful day. I love summer. I really do. Summer is my first love. Give me sunshine, a pool or a sandy beach and I am a happy girl. But, fall comes in second. When the temps stay in the 80's all day it just makes me smile. I took a walk today. Forgot my camera!

The first bit of fall weather brings to mind all the decorations that I need to get out of the attic. My house is made for fall decorations. My colors are chocolate, burnt orange, golds....all those crisp fall colors. Pumpkins are right at home around here. Hopefully tomorrow I will find time to bring a few things down.

I have a love for pretty dish towels. Above my cook top I have a pot filler. It is the perfect place to hang two lovely towels for the season. I picked up these two at the Crown Shop in Little Rock the other day.

I did have a busy day today. Spent the morning having the "grey" covered. Then I spent the afternoon at the dentist. Only two things but they took the majority of the day!!

Today I am happy about:

having the grey covered
my house staying clean
fun mail in the mailbox
frozen yogurt!

Pizza...a real treat for us

Friends and family know that Mike and I have been on an extreme diet for some time now. Having pizza is a treat for us. This is our dinner tonight:

It's a Papa Murphy's DLite. Tons less calories than a regular pizza but lots of flavor. I am a big fan of thin crust pizza so this suits me just fine. We both love being able to pop it in the oven and having piping hot pizza. This cooks so quick that if it was delivery, it wouldn't be good to eat by the time it got here. Anyway, this is proof that even when dieting, we can eat! haha

Miss Emily spent the day with me and she and I just played, napped and took a little trip to the office to see her daddy and grandpa. After school, I went to see Justin and Jenny's new house. They are moving a few miles away. Gonna miss having them right down the street but this house if perfect for their family. Mike and Whitney sold their house today. They are making an offer on another one tonight. Keeping our fingers crossed because the house they like is in our neighborhood.

Just chillin' out tonight with Mike. Not too exciting around here. Tomorrow....busy day!

Matt and Morgan are still in Cleveland, Ohio (Matt's final year of law school) and couldn't be here for my birthday this year. A box containing these wonderful goodies came today. Sorry your picture is covered in the 12x12 photo Morgan! The candle is already burning and I love the scarf and towel.

Celebrate.....make a wish!

Tonight we had a birthday dinner and birthday cake. You can see that the boys and Emily helped me to blow out the candles. Thank goodness Mike didn't put 50 candles on the cake! LOL

Jax and Jeremy helped me open presents.

Justin, Jenny and the boys got me this awesome owl and a really cute owl ring.

Then it was Miss Emily's turn to help Nanny. With a little help from Jax too.

Mike, Whitney and Emily got me a really cute metal tree with words of wisdom on the branches. Very cute!

I have had the most wonderful birthday weekend. My husband has been amazing. He's always doing nice things for me. He had to find a second bakery to make my cake because the first bakery had a wedding cake crash and had to cancel their birthday cakes. Even though I told him it wasn't a big deal, he still managed to come home yesterday with a beautiful cake. Strawberry cake is my favorite and this one was yummy.

Now it's back to the real world. LOL Celebrating birthday's is always fun but this week I really need to finish up a couple of projects that have been lingering. I need to have a CRE8TIVE day.

a bird that usually hunts at night that has a large head and eyes, a powerful hooked beak and strong claws.

I have this gorgeous lamp in the den. BE WISE. Seeing that phrase each day reminds me to think. I know to most people that might seem a little bit strange but to me, it's a reminder to be the best I can be everyday. To be the best, I have to make wise choices. An owl is a smart bird. Who else wants to be up all night and alert! LOL Sometimes I get my greatest creative spurts of energy at night. Just like an owl.

My day was fabulous. Spending the last day of my 40's wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm actually looking forward to the next step. 50's! Bring it on. I am ready to tackle it!

Hey to all my scrapbook friends. Look what I am doing today.

This is for a upcoming class using Bazzill's Worth Remembering collection. It's awesome. My dining room table as well as the kitchen bar will be full of scrapbooking goodness today as I put together tons of page kits and class packets. Some call me crazy but I LIKE to put my kits together. I like knowing that all the pieces are there. If there is a mistake....it is MY fault. LOL

I still need to scan the layouts and write instructions but since Mike will not be home tonight I plan to tackle that project. Writing instructions is the least fun part of teaching but it must be done.

Today I will pick all three kids up from school. Love doing that. We will have a fun afternoon. I see ice cream in our future! Just sayin'...

Happy Happy Clean House Day

It usually happens on Tuesday. But this week it had to be a Wednesday. Clean house day always makes me happy. I love coming home knowing that the towels have been washed, dried and put away. Clean sheets on the bed and my floors clean.

This is my kitchen. Or at least part of it. We all seem to gather in the kitchen so I wanted it to be huge. I can feed an army in here! Sometimes I do! You can't see it in the picture but I have two ovens on the right side. Down from three ovens that I had when the boys were growing up. I love to cook. It seems that I don't cook near as much now as I did when our family was growing but I do enjoy having everyone over for dinner. I am lucky that Mike likes to have a clean kitchen too. He doesn't like any dishes left in the sink so 9 times out of 10, he does the dishes for me. See those big, deep drawers on the left and right of the sink? Those are my dish drawers. Love them!

Emily likes my hardwood floors. There is plenty of room for her to buzz around in her walker. I'll take a picture of that soon. She's pretty fast! LOL

Today I picked up Jeremy and Jax at their schools. Wow, some things never change. They are starving when I pick them up! Just like their daddy and uncles were all those years ago! Jeremy has had two cups of ice cream and 3 packs of fruit snacks. Jax has had ice cream and cotton candy! They both have a sweet tooth.

This morning I finished two classes for an upcoming scrapbooking event. I'll post information about that later tonight.

Water vs Diet Mtn Dew

Ok. I admit that I like my diet Mtn Dew. I really want one each day. No calories. What is the big deal? I know that I need to drink my 64 ounces of water per day. But really! 64 ounces? That is tough to do. Every diet says to drink 64 ounces but how many can say that they drink the whole 64? That being said, I am going to give it a shot. Started by drinking about 30 ounces today. That was it. Tomorrow I will try to drink a little more. Slowly. I keep telling myself that! haha

I didn't do a lot today. Miss Emily was with me because she has a ear infection and runny nose. Poor baby. She wanted to be held and I didn't have a problem with that at all! We took a nap together too.

Tomorrow is a busy day. I have to finish up some projects upstairs. Deadlines looming!

Isn't this just the cutest picture!

Car seats for all three of my grandchildren ready to be put in Nanny's Q56! Emily's is a rear facing car seat and it is a little harder to install. I've been trying to keep it in the Q all the time since I take and pick up at TLC. Jaxon's car seat is the middle one. I pick him up less than the others. He goes to Caughman's Corner pre-school. Jeremy is really too big for his booster seat but I keep it around anyway. He likes to sit up a little higher in the Q. Safety is always better anyway. All three seats will go back in the Q later tonight since I'll be picking them up tomorrow.

Happy Birthday to me! LOL

This is my birthday week. I won't lie. I have had a little issue with turning 50. Other years haven't bothered me at all. I really don't *feel* 50. What is 50 suppose to feel like anyway? I don't have any special plans for my birthday. We actually celebrated when Mike surprised me with a trip to Hawaii this summer. I'll have Jax and Jeremy this weekend and I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday. I am sure that I'll get to see Miss Emily too.

Keeping my promise to myself.

I have managed to blog everyday this month. Yes, it is only September 5th but I AM blogging! I probably won't have much to talk about. Most days it just a little boring around here but I love staying home and keeping our house running. I have to be one of the luckiest girls because Mike provided for our family allowing me to stay home and raise our boys instead of working outside the home. I did help him on occasion but generally, I was a stay at home mom. Life is good.

I am looking forward to a very busy week. Are you doing anything exciting this week? Leave me a comment. I would love to hear from you.

Home from HOG land

We are home from the hill. It was fun spending the weekend with family and rooting the HOGS to victory. Mike and I took a scenic drive home via Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Such a pretty drive. One of the sights along the way is the historic Thorncrown Chapel. We have long wanted to visit the chapel but just didn't make the time to do it. I am so glad that we had the opportunity to do so today. Here is a picture I took while sitting on the back pew inside the chapel:

Architect E. Fay Jones designed the chapel. He liked to design using vertical space and natural light. There are some beautiful pictures on their website www.thorncrown.com

I have NO plans for tomorrow...Labor Day! I am just going to take it easy around the house and maybe even scrapbook a little.

Razorback tailgating party

It's football season in Arkansas! LOL We love our Razorbacks. I could not pick just one picture for the day.

Mike calls this group the Russellville Rowdies.....Jeremy is in front wearing the hat and Jaxon is on top of the rock on the right. These boys always have a good time tailgating, swimming, camping or whatever. I suspect they will be lifelong friends.

Picture of the day...

I'm really looking forward to the Razorback game tomorrow. The kids are tailgating in the Gardens (as always) and we are taking Razorback cookies to everyone. It will be Emily's first time to a game. I know that Whitney will have her dressed totally "razorback"! Got to start them early. Grandpa bought four season tickets in the indoor club seating so she would be more comfortable. Next year I am sure she will be right down on the 50 with Jeremy & Jax (oh, and the adults!) leading the cheers!

Other than the game, we don't have any plans. Just visiting with family in Fayetteville and taking it a little easy. Might even do a little shopping!

How are you spending your holiday weekend? I sure hope it is fun and exciting.

Welcome September...it's my birthday month!

Holy cow...it is September already! In just 10 short days I will be turning the big 5-0! Yep 50 glorious years. My how time flies when you are having fun! LOL

I am going to attempt to take a picture everyday this month and post it on my blog. We will see if that really happens! Ha! I have good intentions but "life" gets in the way sometimes. Here goes...the first picture of the month...

This is a picture of my new sleep pants! Just love them! My wonderful sister-in-law will have to hem them for me so I can keep the cute border along the bottom of the legs but I bet she will do it for me. wink! wink!

How are you spending your first day of September? I'll be taking Miss Emily to TLC, stopping by the grocery store for some dinner ingredients (we are having company) and getting a pedi.

Tackling Tuesday

Plans change. Little Miss Emily wasn't feeling good today so I took care of her instead of taking her to TLC. Her mommy & daddy said her little nose was stopped up and she just didn't need to go to school. I didn't mind one bit. I love keeping my grandchildren and when they are sick, they need a little extra "nanny" love. Know what I mean?

So in between holding Emily, playing with Emily and wiping her very runny nose, I tackled this....

my scrapbook table! Yes, it is very messy but if you look close you will see several elements to pages I am working on. There is also my Diet Mt. Dew. I just gotta have it.

I had hoped to post a completed page or two but that will have to be another day. Keep checking. April and I will be announcing some very awesome classes real soon.

I need a routine...

Now that summer is almost over, it's time for a routine. I don't have to get kids up and ready for school or make lunches but I need some balance in my life. I have lots of ideas. Exercise. Scrapbook. Clean house. Cook (low-cal) dinners. You get the idea.

Tomato Soup: we love a good soup and I have been perfecting a recipe that I came across a month or so ago. It is super simple to prepare and low-cal too....except for the croutons that I love to put on top! Here is my recipe:

Saute 1/2 cup onions and 2 cloves of garlic in 2 TBS olive oil until opaque. Add 2 (14.5 oz) cans of fire roasted tomatoes, 2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce, 2 cups chicken broth, 2 tsp dried oregano, 2 tsp dried basil and 2 tsp sugar. Simmer about 20 minutes. Add 8 ounces cream cheese. Puree soup and serve.
Hint: I use a Cuisinart Hand Blender directly in the pan, but you could pour the soup into a regular blender. This soup should never come to a full rolling boil or it will scorch.

Mike and I had a wonderful summer. The trip to Hawaii was the best surprise. Our week there was so much fun. I have a ton of pictures that need to be scrapbooked. I love digging my toes into the sand although the water was a little chilly. Who's got cuter toes? LOL

Looking forward, I am excited about the Razorback football season. The first game is next Saturday night and we hope to tailgate with the kids. I have a fun trip planned for the end of September to scrapbook with friends at the Inspiration Unlimited gala in Las Vegas. Other than keeping the grand kids, that is about all I have on the agenda.

It's about time....

Holy cow...has it really been THAT long since I blogged? Let's see, what has been keeping me busy? I am not really sure. Could it be the hours that I have put in at WBO? I am happy to say that I am not working near as much at the office and can enjoy being at home more. I have missed being able to scrap when I want. I have actually missed cleaning house too. I have a lot of catching up around here and I think the toy closet will be first on the list. Jeremy and Jaxon have a ton of toys here and now that Emily is getting big enough to play, I need to clear out some of the smaller toys and add some things for her.

About my scrapbooking: My plan is to have more pages and classes up and running by September 15th. Maybe earlier. My room is neat and organized. I need to spend a few days up there just figuring out where I want to start. I have purchased new tools and cartridges for the Cricut that I haven't even been able to play with.

I love to use sketches when designing pages. It just takes a little inspiration to get the old creative juices flowing! LOL

When following a sketch, remember that it is only a guide. You can rotate the page any direction, use different embellishments, more embellishments, or even a different border to achieve the same overall look. Even replacing the photo sizes is allowable. Just remember, for the contest, your page must loosely resemble the above sketch.

If you would like to participate in the contest, here are the details:

create a single 12x12 page layout based upon the above sketch
bring the completed layout to the crop at the Russellville Boys & Girls club by noon on April 2nd.

Classes for April 1st & 2nd crop

I really like the planning process for helping to host a crop. Vickie has all the organizational skills to keep us in line, leaving me more time to c.r.e.a.t.e. and that is just what I have been doing this week. I love the layouts for the classes.

The first set is a double-page layout and is $15.00. Included in the class is a set of decorative scissors with 3 sets of interchangeable blades for you to keep! How's that for a deal! Class size is limited so sign up soon. Prepayment gets you an extra surprise in class.

The second class is a single page layout for $12.00 and look at the detail! You will receive lots of product so you can make a companion page too. Prepayments get a surprise in this class too!

The last class is also a single page for $12 and it is packed with product too! As always, my classes are so adaptable. My finished page title is "It is a great day to be aunt MoMo" and will feature a picture of Aunt Morgan with her two nephews and one niece....who happen to be my grandchildren. I'll post a picture of it later this weekend....just as soon as she gets here and has a chance to play with the kids. They are flying in from Cleveland for the weekend! Oh, back to class information. Class size is limited so sign up soon to get your extra surprise!

Are you ready for a FUN weekend? Cool Crops (Vickie Ward) is sponsoring another fabulous event on April 1st and 2nd at the Boys & Girls club in Russellville. The Friday and Saturday crop is going to be packed with new and wonderful things for us to do! There will be lots of prizes too! Vickie is excited about having a 2-day crop!

I have another fantastic class planned for April 1st (Friday night). It's a six-pager! That is right 6, 12x12 pages with enough product for you to make lots (and lots) more! Oh, they are so cute! Be.....Loved plus it's Monday!

Today, I am really happy about my word of the year. "BE" This week I am happy to "BE" loved by so many people and to love so many people. I am happy that I have the love of my life always beside me. We have never been a couple to celebrate Valentine's Day because we show each other our love for one another daily. I do like to treat the grandkids.....

This is what they will be getting after school today. Jeremy has football cards in his bag and Jaxon has Toy Story cards. Emily has books and the cute little owl pillow. Of course, there is candy in the bag too!

I have been very busy the last several days in my scrapbook studio. I have a big class coming up this weekend and a crop in a few weeks that I wanted to prepare for.

This is one of the free layouts that each cropper will get at the April 1st crop! Isn't it cute. The flower is made with cardstock circles. You could make it with patterned paper too.

MONDAY....aaahhhhh....I really do love Monday. Fresh start. Beginning. That's how I look at every Monday. Nine out of ten Monday's are wonderful. Every once in a while there will be that uuuuggggg Monday but generally it's a good day. And Valentine's Day on a Monday will make the week extra special. Love....it's definitely in the air!

It's a SOUP kind of day

BRRRRrrrrrrrr! it is still cold out side! The sun is shinning but our mega snow is still hanging around. Wow, I can't remember when Arkansas has had this much snow! Especially Russellville. It sure is pretty.

I always like to cook when it snows! When the boys were little I would make homemade cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate for a treat. It was a lot of work but they loved it. I also love to make soup. This recipe was given to me back in December and my family loves it. If you like Chicken Pot Pie, then you will LOVE this soup. Warning: it makes a ton. Warms up well too!

CHICKEN POT PIE SOUP

7 cups chicken broth

10 oz pkg frozen peas & carrots (I could only find Kroger brand and they are good)

1/2 pkg frozen corn

16 oz pkg frozen broccoli

2 lb pkg OreIda hash brown CHUNKS

medium onion, chopped or 1/2 bag frozen chopped onions

2 cans cream of chicken soup

2 cups milk

1 lb Velveeta cheese

1/2 tsp white pepper

salt to taste

Rotisserie Savory Chicken, chopped

Bring broth to a boil then add peas, carrots, corn and broccoli. Return to a boil and add the hash brown chunks and onion. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add remaining ingredients and heat thoroughly on med-low heat. Don't scorch the cheese! I like to add the chicken last, after the cheese has melted but you can add it anytime. Enjoy!

It seems like so long ago that I taught a scrapbook class. Oh, wait...it has been a long time.

I will be teaching on Friday, February 18th at the Russellville Extravaganza sponsored by the Scrapbook Attic in Searcy. This is going to be a fun 2-day event that I know all you scrapbookers will want to attend! Check it out here.

Today is Mike's 58th birthday! I thank God everyday for bringing Mike into my world. We've not had a perfect marriage but darn close. I can't imagine living without him and hope to have many more birthday celebrations with him.

On to scrapbooking. Have you been following all the new products that are at CHA this weekend! OMG...there is so much new stuff. We all better be saving our money so we can splurge on some of the great products that will be available real soon. Here are a few of my favorites from My Little Yellow Bicycle

Makes me tired thinking about the week but I'm ready for it!

I am blogging from the air! WhooooHoooooo! I am not a very happy camper right now because Delta bumped my full fare first class ticket to coach! I am even a Gold Medallion! At least they put me in an isle seat! Mike got bumped too but after we got on board they moved him back up and he is on a "free" ticket. Go figure! He did offer to trade but he is the one that needs the extra leg room.

So, anyone following the scrapbook reveals from the craft and hobby association show out in LA! I sure miss being there! Maybe next year.....going to the summer show for sure!

Super busy Wednesday

Hello friends. Today was super busy. I've been trying to get end of the year books finished at Wilkins Brothers Outdoors. That hasn't left much time for creating but I hope to get back upstairs soon. I have all these ideas spinning in my head....I NEED to scrapbook! LOL

Travel is on the horizon for Mike and I. Most of it is for business but we are throwing in a few fun days too. I'll blog about it along the way. We leave on Monday.

I found this picture while blog hopping earlier tonight. Don't know who the people are but I love this heart! I'll have to scraplift that for a layout soon.

Today my "BE" word is BALANCED. I need to BE BALANCED! January is such a busy month for me that finding time to be balanced is a hard task. It reminds me of the times I had to be at many different places (at the same time) when the boys were growing up. Balancing everything in our daily lives is difficult but the older I get, the more I want to stay home, play with the grandkids and spend time upstairs in the studio.

ology.......It all started tonight because I saw on a friend's blog that she bought a Matthewology (the study of Matt) shirt for someone as a gift. I HAD to find out about that shirt because I thought it would be perfect for my Matthew. Those of you who know him would agree that he needs that shirt! LOL

So, I began a search and found this website

Glory be....THIS is my WORD! I want one of each item in the store! LOL

First, I want the be.loved t-shirt because it is almost Valentine's Day. Second, I really need the be.creative shirt just because I AM creative! LOL I really think I need something from the be.cozy section too just BECAUSE! HaHa

Seriously, It doesn't take a whole lot to make me happy but finding this web site today and the BE WISE lamp on Saturday....it's just wonderful!

More about my word

There is going to be a lot of talk on my blog about the word "BE". It's my word for the year as I am following Ali Edwards class here. Today I had the urge to stop by Flowers, Etc (a local gift and home accessory store) to do a little shopping. I found this lamp. Oh, it was so meant to "BE".

Those of you who know me well, know that I love owls. My wallet has owls on it. One of my favorite things in my house is an owl figure I bought many years ago. Many of my favorite scrapbook pages have owls on them. This lamp will be right behind me every day as I sit on the couch and blog, read, play on the computer or just watch tv. It is going to "BE" a constant reminder that my year is going to "BE" the best year ever.

Oh, I am such a happy girl. Getting one new lamp makes me want to do several more things in our house. It's time to re-do a few accessories and rugs. I am pretty sure there will be several shopping trips in the next few weeks. Ha. Just what the cold winter days is good for.

Go Hogs Go

Tonight is the BIG game. Down in New Orleans. We are watching on tv. The boys are in New Orleans for the game. They said the crowds are huge and the Arkansas fans out number the Ohio fans 3 to 1. I'll miss not being at the game, mainly because Mike wanted to go, but I don't miss the crowds. Besides, we'll be traveling 15 days this month. That should be plenty of time away from home. Had the game been somewhere other than New Orleans, I would have wanted to go.

So tonight it's football food, long game and most likely falling asleep on the couch! LOL

ME-time

I hope to get some ME-time this week. The boys are off to the Razorback game in New Orleans which means Mike and I will be in the store just a little bit more. I did leave before 3 today to pick Jeremy up at school. I came home and made a delicious new soup. It's called Chicken Pot Pie soup and it is wonderful. I know...it's for dinner but I had to try a bite. You know, it might "need" a little salt! LOL The recipe is super simple. I know it's going to be one for the recipe scrapbook. Speaking of scrapbook...it is sure time for me to get a few things scheduled. I am going to work on that real soon. I'll keep you posted right here on the 'ole blog.

Remember when I said that Monday was my favorite day of the week. Today was perfect. Got up early. Went to work. Accompilshed a ton and even left in time to go to the grocery store before picking up Jeremy. Dinner ready. Laundry done. Even blogging before Mike gets home. Ahhhh...love my Monday's. Hey, even Hoarders comes on tonight. Bonus! Love that show. I actually know someone who is sort of a hoarder. I really wish she would let someone help her fix up her beautiful house before it gets like some of the houses seen on Hoarders!

Time to do a few things before Mike gets home. It's going to be an early pj night for me.

Lazy Sunday

I spent the day being lazy. I had planned to be up in my studio but that didn't work out. Mike and I went to see True Grit this afternoon. I really enjoyed the movie. All except the snakes. I want to rent the original Ture Grit movie and see how they compare.

I'm excited about tomorrow. Monday is my favorite day of the week. I don't mind going to the office. I am thrilled if I get to stay home. I don't even mind getting up early on Monday. It's a new start. A day to decide what the week will be like. Hum....Monday. Come on. I really like you.

Goodbye 2010

Just a few more hours until the beginning of 2011. This year has flown by and I am pretty sure 2011 will fly by just a fast. Every year many people make New Years Resolutions. I've done this in the past too. This year is going to be different for me. I am not going to make any resolutions. It's not that I don't have goals, I do. I just want to gently slide into the new year with no preconcieved ideas of what the year should be like. I want to start the year with joy. I want to be happy when something good happens. I want to be excited when a few pounds come off. I want to be surprised when someone gets a bit of good news. I want to be excited when I have a few extra hours to play in my scrapbook studio. But most of all I want to be thrilled with who I am. I want to strive to be better. No goals. No resolutions. Just me.

Holly cow! Has it really been THAT long since I blogged! Yep! I guess it has. I must strive to be a better blogger. I'm not going to post everyday. Heck, I might only make it one time a week but I AM going to blog!

After January 1st, check back in. Oh, how about checking often. You will see a little scrapbooking, a little family and a little bit of anything else that might be happening in my little world.
